Purse - Fantasy Golf Contest Platform

Effective Date: March 17, 2026

Last Updated: March 17, 2026

Overview
Purse is a fantasy golf game where users build lineups of professional golfers and compete for cash prizes while supporting nonprofit organizations. Users score points based on how their golfers perform relative to par, and a potential Grand Prize is available in every contest for entries that meet the “Top 10 + Winner” conditions.

Pools and Entries
● Users may join available pools directly from the homepage by paying the posted entry fee to reserve an entry.
● Each user may reserve a maximum of 3 entries per pool.
● Pools use fixed entry sizes (for example, a “10,000 Entry Pool”).
Deadlines and Lineups
● Entries lock at the “Deadline,” which is set as 1 minute prior to the first tee time of Round 1 on Thursday.
● All entries must be reserved and all lineup selections must be finalized prior to the Deadline.
● Each entry selects 10 golfers from the provided field list + tag 1 of the 10 as their “winner”.
● Lineups can be created and edited any time from when an entry is reserved up until the Deadline.

Scoring and Live Leaderboard
● Scoring is based on strokes relative to par for each golfer over the full tournament.
● Each golfer receives 1 point for every stroke under par and −1 point for every stroke over par (for example, a golfer finishing at −3 receives 3 points; a golfer finishing at +4 receives −4 points).
● The player tagged as “winner” earns a 1.5x points multiplier if they successfully win the tournament.
● An entry’s total score is the sum of the points from all 10 golfers in its lineup.
● Any golfer who Withdraws (WD), is Disqualified (DQ), or Misses the Cut (MC), or any empty lineup position, receives a score equal to 1 point less than the last-place golfer who makes the cut and finishes the tournament.

Example: If the worst finishing golfer who makes the cut completes the tournament at +4 (which equals −4 points), then all WD/DQ/MC/empty spots receive −5 points for the contest.

● During the tournament, a live leaderboard is displayed using projected scoring as if the tournament ended at that moment; no results are final until the tournament is officially over.

Entry Fees, Donations, and Payouts
● When reserving an entry, each user selects one nonprofit partner from the list provided.
● For every entry, 50% of the entry fee is a direct donation to the selected nonprofit, and 50% is retained by Purse for operations and prizes.
● Of the total entry fees, 10% of all entry fees fund the cash prize pool, and half of all cash prizes paid out are sent directly to the same nonprofit selected by the winning entry.
● This means each user’s chosen nonprofit receives support twice: once from the direct donation at entry, and again from any prize money their entry wins.
● Entry fees, nonprofit partners, and payout details may be updated from time to time and will be reflected in the contest details before entries are reserved.

Prize Payout Structure
● The total prize pool for each contest equals 10% of all entry fees collected for that contest.
● Prizes are paid to the Top 10 scoring entries based on their final total points.
● A Grand Prize of at least $1,000,000 in cash is available in each contest for any entry that satisfies all of the “Top 10 + Winner” Grand Prize requirements for that contest. If no entry meets those conditions in a contest, the Grand Prize is not awarded in that contest.
● All prizes for a pool are paid out at once after the tournament and upon pool settlement.
● For each winning entry, 50% of the prize is paid to the user and 50% is donated directly to the nonprofit chosen by that entry at the time of entry.
● In the event of ties, the applicable prize amounts for the tied positions are combined, divided equally among tied entries, and rounded to the nearest cent; the same split (50% to user / 50% to nonprofit) is applied to each resulting prize.

Example Tiered Top 10 Waterfall
Assume a contest with 10,000 total entries at $50 per entry:
● Total entry fees: $500,000
● Prize pool (10% of entry fees): $50,000

A sample Top 10 payout waterfall (excluding the separate Grand Prize mechanic described above) might look like this:
● 1st place: 50% of prize pool = $25,000
● 2nd place: 20% of prize pool = $10,000
● 3rd place: 10% of prize pool = $5,000
● 4th place: 10% of prize pool = $5,000
● 5th place: 5% of prize pool = $2,500
● 6th-10th place: 1% of prize pool each = $500/each ($2,500 total)

For each of these prizes, 50% is paid to the user and 50% is donated to the nonprofit selected by that user for that entry (for example, a $25,000 first-place prize would result in $12,500 to the user and $12,500 to the nonprofit).

Top 10 + Winner Grand Prize Format
● In contests with a “Top 10 + Winner” Grand Prize, an entry must:
○ Correctly designate one golfer as the Winner (1st place finisher / top money earner), and
○ Select nine additional golfers, and
○ All ten selected golfers must finish inside the tournament’s top 10 money earners (including ties as described below).
● If the designated Winner does not finish 1st outright or as the top money earner (including any applicable playoffs), the entry is not eligible for the Grand Prize, even if the other nine golfers all finish in the top 10.
● When there are ties around the 10th position, an entry must:
○ Include all players who finish ahead of the tied group, and
○ Include enough players from the tied group to fill the remaining lineup spots so that the entry contains all higher‑earning finishers within the top 10 money positions.
● An entry that meets all of these conditions becomes eligible to receive the Grand Prize of at least $1,000,000 in cash for that contest, subject to the contest’s posted terms and any applicable laws and regulations. If no entry meets these conditions, the Grand Prize is not awarded for that contest.

Example: Winning Entry
If the final results are:

  1. Player A

  2. Player B

  3. Player C

  4. Player D

  5. Player E

  6. Player F

  7. Player G
    T8. Player H
    T8. Player I
    T8. Player J
    T8. Player K
    T8. Player L

A winning Grand Prize entry must:
    ● Designate Player A as the Winner, and
    ● Also include Players B–G, and
    ● Select any 3 of the 5 players tied for 8th (H, I, J, K, L) as the remaining lineup spots.
    Example: Losing Entry
Using the same leaderboard above, an entry is ineligible for the Grand Prize if:
    ● It designates Player B (or any golfer other than Player A) as the Winner, even if all 10 selected golfers finish inside the top 10 money earners; or
    ● It designates Player A as the Winner but omits any higher‑earning finisher (for example, leaving out Player G while including four of the T8 golfers).

In either case, the entry fails to meet the requirement of correctly picking the Winner and having all 10 selected golfers finish within the top 10 money positions.

    Governance and Fair Play
    ● All winners are determined based on the final official real‑world tournament results, as interpreted and applied in the sole discretion of Purse.
    ● All decisions by Purse regarding scoring, payouts, nonprofit allocations, and rule interpretation are final and not subject to appeal.
    ● Users may lose their deposits through gameplay, and all deposits are non‑refundable.
    ● Any violation of rules or any form of cheating (as determined by Purse) will result in forfeiture of any prize winnings and may lead to further account action, including but not limited to account suspension or closure.
